CONTINUED GOOD WORKS of the NORTH PRECINCT ICP OFFICERS: Thanks go out to Officer Fritz and DeKalb PD for their efforts. Many people from DeKalb PD and the community deserve credit for this effort. We should all be grateful for the public relations angle made to enlighten the community of the vagrancy problems that plague the Buford Highway corridor. We hope that this sweep will temporarily deter some potential criminal behavior from the area apartment communities and community as a whole. THE HISTORY OF PINE HILLS: The Pine Hills History site is an attempt by the History Committee to record the History of the Pine Hills community and its immediate surroundings. The compiler, Albert Martin, moved here in 1968 and is a native Atlantan. Albert grew up in the family home—"Goodwins" c1835—located in Brookhaven. He and his wife, Virve, now live on land once owned by his great-great-great uncle, Starling Goodwin.

The historical information found on this website is a work in progress. Although Al has done much research on the community, your help is needed and will be greatly appreciated. Drop off your comments and copies of any historical documents at his home 1106 Norwich Cir., call to talk to him at 404-233-2794, or send e-mails to goodwinhistory@earthlink.net.

Soon to be included will be a general history of the Pine Hills area, the Guess Cemetery off Edison Gardens and the Guess Mill on Peachtree Creek behind Saratoga Place off Shady Valley Road.

Herbicides and Pesticides

Exposure to herbicides and pesticides can make children and pets ill. Most commercial lawn companies will post signs when pesticides and herbicides are used. If you are spraying yourself or using a private gardener, please be sure to put some type of notice on your lawn where it can be seen by those walking by.

Traffic Concerns

Our Pine Hills security officers have been doing a great job with traffic enforcement in the neighborhood. They have issued a few tickets to speeders but usually stop and warn neighbors. If you are concerned about an ongoing problem, please notify our security team at:
