Current Zoning Issues
Neighborhood Planning Units (NPUs)
The City of Atlanta is divided into twenty-five Neighborhood Planning Units (NPUs), which are citizen advisory councils that make recommendations to the Mayor and City Council on zoning, land use, and other planning issues.
The PHNA has a member who participates in NPU-B, which represents Pine Hills and other neighborhoods in Buckhead.
Why Care About Zoning Issues?
The City of Atlanta is divided into zones or districts that regulate the physical development of the land and limit the uses to which a property may be put. These zoning districts also regulate the height, overall size, and placement of buildings on a lot, the density at which buildings may be constructed, and the number of parking spaces that must accompany each new building.
Changes, or variances, in zoning laws can affect your property values, not to mention the traffic and infrastructure (e.g., sewer and water) of a neighborhood.

This page is under development. Check back for updates on zoning issues, area development plans and other issues that affect the single-family integrity of Pine Hills.
